I found a fix for random crashes. I have a mid/high end gaming PC and Just Cause 2 kept crashing. My processor is 3.00GHz and Graphics card os Nvidea GT 640, so I knew the specs weren't a problem. Lately, Just Cause 2 has been crashing to the desktop a numerous amount of times. I set out to find a fix, and after many tests I found out what it really is.I don't know if it is going to work for everybody, but turning off motion blur fixed the problem for me. Find it under the display options and disable the motion blur. I've played it for about 2 hours straight since turning it off and I'm glad it's not crashing anymore.
What seems to have been causing the crash for me, was my Auto-Save or Steam Cloud Files.I deleted the files located here C:Program Files (x86)Steamuserdata90, launched the game in Offline Mode, closed the game, reconnected Steam Online, and Steam 'Re-Syncs' the Saves. After this, I have ONLY been using one Save File, and not the Auto-Save, as that seems to cause the crashes.I had a crash occur again, while loading my Auto-Save File, but after loading my only Save File, the game continued along with no problems.Hope this helps everyone as it's fixed it for me thus far!
March 14, 2015For over five years, Just Cause 2 Mods has provided the Just Cause 2 modding community with a fantastic resource designed to accommodate both modders and players by providing forums, tutorials, news, and a massive library of mods. Recently, the developers of Just Cause 3 revealed that they will be supporting the game’s modding community, despite the fact that they won’t be able to provide official tools.
Because of this exciting announcement, we’ve decided to expand our modding network. We also felt that it was a good time to upgrade, as the old website was running on very outdated software. To celebrate the arrival of our new and improved modding network, here’s a list of the top 10 Just Cause 2 mods of all time. This list is based on the popularity of mods (downloads, forum posts, ratings) during Q4 of 2014, and is also based on the subjective opinion of the writer. No mods from outside of our modding resource have been included (eg. The Superman Flying, First Person Shooter, and Island in Chaos mods have been included because of their victories in the 2010, 2011, and 2013 modding competitions.
